It has been a special morning as the Arnold Hill Spencer community has come together to celebrate the GCSE results of our Year 11 students. So many students have made exceptional progress over the past two years and have displayed real perseverance in developing the knowledge and skills needed to succeed across a wide range of subjects.
We are delighted that more students than last year have achieved a strong pass (Grade 5+) in both English and Mathematics. Alongside this, 97 grades achieved were the very highest Grade 9. Every grade achieved today has been hard-earned and reflects the dedication and commitment shown by our students throughout their GCSE studies.
From the wide range of student successes, some particular highlights include Charly Livvy, who achieved an outstanding nine grade 9s. Adam Goodall obtained three grade 9s, Hector Eland obtained excellent results across the curriculum and Grace Harrison also celebrated exceptional success.
We are equally proud of students whose achievements reflect their resilience in overcoming challenges. Bella Court made remarkable progress from their Year 10 mock examinations, demonstrating such determination and a willingness to really study hard to achieve.
Kerry Wiltshire, Principal, said: “I would like to extend my gratitude to all the families of our students for their support, and to the dedicated team of teaching and support staff who work so hard to ensure that our students belong, aspire and achieve. Whether it be Sixth Form, college, apprenticeships or the world of work -we wish every Year 11 student the very best for the future and remember you will always be remembered and belong here!”
Jordan Phillips, Associate Assistant Principal, said “For the past five years, I have had the absolute privilege of guiding this cohort of students through their secondary school journey. Standing in the hall today, watching them open their GCSE results envelopes, filled me with an overwhelming sense of pride.
The public often focuses on the statistics, but they do not always see the journeys many of our students have taken. These include overcoming anxiety to sit their exams, attending intervention sessions to secure a well-deserved pass, and consistently supporting their peers through the intense pressures of the examination season.
The year group have been an absolute credit to the school, and these results are a well-deserved reward for their dedication and I’m sure all will thrive in their next destination”
